Familiar Taste of Poison

We all have our vices; the things we go back to, again and again, despite knowing that in the end they'll make us unhappy. Whether they’re toxic relationships that fuck us up, mentally and physically, that we keep running back to; or addictions that we know we’ll never break. Impossible goals we set ourselves, mountains we know we’ll never climb, but we keep gorram trying. But then we also have the good constants in our lives; the things we go back to when we feel that we need to be grounded, to lose ourselves in, or even just to feel safe. The books we read, the games we play, and the music we listen to. Final Fantasy, among other things, has always been one of the good constants in my life. Whether it be playing the game, listening to the soundtracks and Distant Worlds recordings, or watching Advent Children: Final Fantasy is one of the things that I can always count on to make the bad and scary aspects of my life seem unimportant.lockhart
